Law students practice arguing cases in our simulated courtroom
The law affects us in multiple ways, whether it's protecting civil liberties or keeping order. You'll gain the critical thinking and communication skills to study and challenge its development and advocate for those in need of legal representation.

In our friendly community of students and academics, you’ll take part in team-building exercises and small-group learning. There will be opportunities to practise client interviewing and case management through placements, workshops and volunteering. Hear from leading lawyers and business professionals in regular seminars and get career-ready with weekly employability skills lectures, our unique Careers Programme and annual law fair. At master’s level choose topics from commercial law to human rights.

Law courses

Our LLB courses include degrees from maritime law to European and international legal studies. If you have a degree in another subject, accelerated courses allow you to pursue a career in law in the UK or overseas. Carry out higher level study with our master’s degrees and our PhD in law.

I specialise in international environmental law. In particular the growing importance of animal welfare and the need for biodiversity legislation.
