Explore your civil engineering degree

You'll learn to help solve real-world engineering challenges and support the future development of our society. You'll get hands-on civil engineering experience in labs in our new National Infrastructure Laboratory, and gain understanding from hydraulics to soil mechanics, and structural design to construction management.

You'll benefit from our strong staff to student ratio and learn about the latest research developments in civil engineering as they happen.


BEng Civil Engineering

BEng Civil Engineering (3 years)

Learn about structural mechanics, geotechnics, hydraulics, and construction management. Apply your knowledge and develop the required skills to become a successful civil engineer.

MEng Civil Engineering

MEng Civil Engineering (4 years)

Study a more extensive range of advanced civil engineering subjects in this four-year integrated masters.  Develop your design skills in a major group design project.

The Constructionarium

As part of your studies you’ll take part in the Constructionarium Challenge at the National Construction College.
