Study with us

Find out how you can learn about the Holocaust, Jewish history and culture, and the relations between Jews and non-Jews

Our members teach a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate modules across the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Through this teaching, our students look at the variety of issues that have impacted on the Jewish people throughout history and have influenced the relationship between Jews and non-Jews to the present. Our students also draw upon the unique resources of the Parkes Institute, with its world reputation for Jewish Studies.

Included in our postgraduate teaching is our MA Holocaust: History, Experience, Heritage. This programme, designed by our internationally recognised team, explores the Holocaust both as a historic event as a source of memory and heritage. It is a hands-on degree during which offers the opportunity to curate Holocaust objects, organise a study trip to Europe and develop research skills by attending a series of research-led modules and writing a dissertation.

The MA can also serve as the perfect stepping-stone to a doctoral study.

Southampton MA Holocaust scholarships: There are up to 2 James Parkes scholarships of £4000 and up to 2 Sayers Family scholarships of £1000 available. Email parkes@soton.ac.uk for more information.

If you'd like to find out more about the MA, we're hosting a webinar on Tuesday 23 April at 4pm. Register now for your opportunity to hear from our team and ask any questions you might have.
