Dr. Brito elected Deputy Chair of the Society of Underwater Technology Panel

At the most recent meeting of the Society of Underwater Technology, Dr. Mario Brito from the Centre for Risk Research was elected Deputy Chair of the Society of Underwater Technology Panel on Underwater Robotics (SUT-PUR). The meeting was held at the University of Tokyo’s Institute of Industrial Science on November 10th 2016.

The Society of Underwater Technology was founded in 1966 and brings together organisations and individuals with common interests in underwater technology, ocean science and offshore engineering. SUT-PUR promotes, initiates and coordinates studies, research and the development of autonomous underwater vehicles. Dr. Brito commented: "I am very proud to be part of this panel. It is a great honour to be elected as Deputy Chair and I am looking forward to helping to drive forward many future projects."
