SHTAC is the new chair of InterTASC

SHTAC will chair InterTASC business meetings twice a year and co-ordinate other activities such as training workshops, and liaise with NICE and NIHR on methods and processes in HTA.

InterTASC is the community of nine Technology Assessment Review (TAR) groups who deliver independent, objective evidence reports to support health policy decision making by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and other national bodies. The group meets twice yearly to discuss matters relating to the process and methods for undertaking HTA, and to plan for training and events to advance methodology in HTA.

Chairing of InterTASC rotates between the nine TAR teams, with each team taking a two-year tenure. Professor Joanne Lord and Dr Jonathan Shepherd from SHTAC will jointly chair the twice yearly InterTASC business meetings, usually held in London or Manchester. Representatives from NICE and the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) join these meetings to discuss matters relating to process, methods and policy. SHTAC would like to thank Kleijnen Systematic Reviews Ltd who were the previous chairing group.

More information about the work of InterTASC can be found on its website, with links to each of websites of the nine member teams.
