American Football

Southampton Stags American Football Team: American Football team currently competing in BUCS South West Division 1A, having been promoted as undefeated division champions in 2018.

Archery Club

Archery is a sport open to everyone. If you are already an archer just send us an email at archclub@soton.ac.uk We run a beginners' course for the first 6 weeks of the academic year.

Athletics & Cross Country

Southampton University Athletics and Cross Country Club provides training and competition opportunities for all levels.

Badminton Recbad

At RecBad you can play badminton games at any standard; beginner to expert, chilled to competitive, with a range of people from all across the university.

Badminton Colours

The Colours Badminton Club is the competitive badminton club at the University which takes part in regular training and matches against other universities and local teams.

Baseball and Softball

The University of Southampton Baseball and Softball Team welcomes both men and women to join and compete in both local and national Baseball and Softball competitions

Basketball

If you're interested at playing Basketball at any level please get in touch!! We have Men's and Women's competitive and development teams which accept players of all abilities

Boat (Rowing)

SUBC is (with over 100 members) one of the largest clubs of Team Southampton. We welcome both experienced and beginner athletes and are proud to not only be a rowing club but a family to our members.

Boxing

One of the most physically and mentally demanding sports. Whether you want to box to keep fit or to have competitive bouts, the Boxing club could be for you! We welcome new members all year round

Canoe

SUCC accommodates anyone from people who have never kayaked before (which is how most people join us), to expert paddlers! We run weekly sessions on the river and in the pool

Canoe Polo

Canoe Polo combines kayaking and ball handling skills into an exciting contact team game, where tactics and positional play are as important as the speed and fitness of the individual players.

Fencing

We welcome and cater for all ability levels, from complete beginners to experienced and competitive fencers.

Futsal

Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided football game that is widely played across the world and is officially recognised by both UEFA and FIFA.

Golf

We cater for all levels of player, from beginners looking to learn, experienced/intermediate players who would like to get a handicap certificate.

Gymnastics

The Southampton University Gymnastics Club is for students looking to improve their strength, flexibility and gymnastic technique.

Judo

Judo is a traditional Japanese martial art and modern Olympic sport centred on powerful throws and effective joint locks and pins.

Kitesurfing

Welcome to SUKS, Southampton Uni's Kitesurfing Society. We are one of the biggest Uni kite societies in the country, with over 60 active members.

Korfball

Korfball is a mixed gender Dutch sport with similarities to basketball and netball. SUKC was established in 2012 by a handful of players who already knew the sport.

Ladies Cricket

SULCC is a friendly and welcoming club for female cricketers of all abilities! Don't be afraid to join, whether you are completely new to cricket or have been playing for years.

Ladies Football

Southampton University Ladies Football Club (SULFC) is a great club for people of all footballing abilities. We have two 11-a-side teams and one 5-a-side time.

Ladies Hockey

Southampton University Ladies Hockey Club, (also known as Wessex), fields a variety of teams welcoming all abilities.

Ladies Lacrosse

Southampton University Ladies Lacrosse Club is an ever-growing club with members of all abilities. We currently have two teams competing in the Western 2 Division of BUCS.

Ladies Rugby

At SUWRFC we welcome all players of mixed abilities, whether you've never played before or have represented your county. We have two teams.

Lifesaving

Catering for all abilities, you can learn new skills or improve what you may already know. You can join us at inter university competitions too.

Mens Cricket

SUCC is one of the largest sports clubs at the University and also one of the most successful. We can boast 4 competitive sides along with our additional 5th XI friendly side

Mens Football

With three teams continuing to run in BUCS Football and competitive Saturday league fixtures, there are opportunities for everyone. With the promotion of the 1’s to BUCS Western 1A this coming season.

Mens Hockey

We are the biggest and most diverse club in the Athletic Union and will welcome players of any ability; with five outdoor teams and one indoor team, competing in the local and BUCS leagues.

Mens Lacrosse

Lacrosse is a full contact team sport which originated as a Native American war game. These days it is the fastest game on two legs.

Mens Rugby

We are one of the biggest and most successful clubs at the Uni, and widely encourage freshers to join - look out for our stall at the Freshers Fair! Everyone is welcome.

Mixed Lacrosse

Mixed Lacrosse is a fast paced, non contact sport played with both men and women on a team, where you use a stick, known as a crosse, to throw a hard rubber ball, about the size of a tennis ball.

Mountaineering

Bouldering, Climbing and Mountaineering at both indoor and outdoor venues. Our members make regular trips to climbing centres, sea cliffs and crags around the UK and Europe
