We offer a range of postgraduate opportunities in Gerontology, designed to meet the needs of busy mid-career professionals, new entrants to the University and the social sciences, or returners to education who wish to pursue the subject area. For detailed information, please visit our programmes' webpage.
We offer flexible study routes designed to suit your needs. Our taught courses can be studied full or part-time; based in Southampton, or via distance learning in your own home. The courses available include:
Up to two individual modules or Short Courses can be taken as part of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and successful students can complete more modules and make up the difference in tuition fees, in order to complete a higher qualification (for example, Postgraduate Certificate with three modules or Postgraduate Diploma with six modules).
Our research programmes are for those interested in carrying out further research, or preparing for a future career in a particular area of gerontology of interest. Our MSc Gerontology (Research) and MSc Gerontology (Distance Learning) are ESRC recognised programmes providing specialist training in research methods and the Centre provides a stimulating environment for research in the areas of gerontology, ageing, lifecourse and social policy.
Both routes can be studied full or part-time.
