My research spans social and health psychology, focusing on the mechanisms that shape behaviour change to improve health and well-being across three core areas.
First, in promoting health behaviour, I investigate strategies to support behaviour change that improves health and supports the management of chronic conditions. As part of this I have worked on several clinical trials to develop, optimise, and evaluate digital interventions.
Second, in enhancing well-being, I examine how positive emotions, such as nostalgia, promote well-being, and how these effects vary according to individual differences, including emotion regulation.
Third, I examine intragroup processes, particularly in the context of group threat, focusing on how group processes shape the appraisal of, and responses to, group-based threats and their implications for behaviour and well-being.
