New SHTAC report

A systematic review and economic evaluation of the safety and effectiveness of different methods of ear wax removal is now available.

A systematic review and economic evaluation of the safety and effectiveness of different methods of earwax removal has been published in the Health Technology Assessment monograph series. The project was commissioned by the NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme. The systematic review of clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness found limited good-quality evidence, making it difficult to differentiate between the various methods for removing earwax.
