Hi, I'm Michael Moazami and I studied MChem Chemistry within Chemistry at the University of Southampton.

My experience of life at the University of Southampton has been wholly brilliant. From the introductory lectures providing reassurance and all of the need to know information, to the well-organised and well-prepared practical sessions, life in Chemistry has been nothing shy of excellent.

I have always enjoyed chemistry, and through a somewhat serendipitous series of events became involved with some of the outreach events hosted by Chemistry. After having seen how smoothly the labs operate and of what standard the research and development labs are here, Southampton became an obvious choice for me.

My experience of life at the University of Southampton has been wholly brilliant. From the introductory lectures providing reassurance and all of the need to know information, to the well-organised and well-prepared practical sessions, life in Chemistry has been nothing shy of excellent.

What became immediately obvious to me upon beginning my course was how well-structured and well-planned everything is. The lecturers all follow a specific timetable, specify appropriate additional reading and provide regular, detailed feedback on lecture content if required. What is abundantly clear is how passionate the lecturing staff are for their subject. With many staff also active in the research fields of chemistry, there is always someone available to answer any question you may have relating to the course or off-course content.

The University halls are of a good standard and the Highfield Campus is extremely well-serviced with a meritoriously well stocked library and study area.

I hope sincerely that after my four-year degree course I’ll be in a position to go on to complete a PhD. From there I intend to either remain active in research (hopefully still at Southampton) or go on to work in the pharmaceutical industry.
