Explore your civil engineering degree

Gain the knowledge and skills to plan, design and construct infrastructure projects. You’ll learn to help solve real-world engineering challenges and support the future development of our society.

Your studies will help you develop a wide range of knowledge and skills, from understanding hydraulics and soil mechanics to structural design and construction management.

On graduation you’ll have a sound understanding of the fundamental principles of civil engineering and the ability and confidence to apply them to solve practical problems.

BEng Civil Engineering

BEng Civil Engineering (3 years)

Learn about structural mechanics, geotechnics, hydraulics, and construction management.  Apply your knowledge and develop the required skills to become a successful civil engineer.  

MEng Civil Engineering

MEng Civil Engineering (4 years)

Study a more extensive range of advanced civil engineering subjects in this four-year integrated masters.  Develop your design skills in a major group design project.

As part of your studies you’ll take part in the Constructionarium Challenge at the National Construction College.
