Research Vessel Callista

Used by staff and students for a range of fieldwork and research, R.V. Callista, is a 19.75m catamaran designed and equipped for a range of coastal and shelf research. She is based at NOCS and is available to staff and students in the School of Ocean and Earth Science.

Key facts

R.V. Callista is manned by appropriately qualified crew who have extensive local knowledge and experience in the deployment of scientific equipment and sample collection and licenced by the MCA. She is equipped with basic standard equipment, but can be further fitted from our range of oceanographic field equipment to suit individual requirements.
