The Centre for Risk Research (CRR) is delighted to announce that Dr Toan Huynh has become its latest member. At the beginning of 2022, Dr Huynh joined Southampton Business School (SBS) as a Lecturer in Risk Management and he immediately became a member of the CRR.

Dr Toan Huynh holds two master’s degrees, one from Toulouse School of Economics and one from Nantes University (France), and he received his PhD in Finance from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management (Germany) in 2022.

He has a broad range of research interests that include behavioural and experimental finance, behavioural decision theories, cross-cultural comparisons of decision-making, behavioural and political economics, and the relationship between culture and institutions. His work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Communications, Journal of Economic Behaviour & Organizations, and Economics Letters.

In response to becoming a member of the CRR, Toan Huynh said, “I am delighted to join the CRR and work with such amazing colleagues. Being a part of this team will give me tremendous opportunities to work in the intersections of economics, finance, and risk. By doing this, I can contribute to this multidisciplinary team of risk experts.”

The Director of the CRR, Dr Ian Dawson, said, “It is wonderful that the CRR continues to grow and to attract talented and innovative academics like Toan. He brings a range of new skills and knowledge to the Centre and I know that several CRR members, including me, are looking forward to collaborating with him in the near future. Toan will certainly help to further extend the capacity and scope of the research that is undertaken in the CRR.”
