Biological Sciences staff

A firm foundation of academic excellence enables us to support and inspire the bio scientists of the future. We offer undergraduates a broad-based training with specialist options across the discipline, while postgraduates can take advantage of a supportive and stimulating research environment.

The University’s £50m investment in a Life Sciences Building illustrates the commitment to learning and innovation in the biological sciences. Biological sciences moved into the new building in autumn 2010, providing academics, researchers and students with a thriving collaborative environment and cutting-edge facilities.

Research here focuses on seven fundamental themes.

Undergraduate study

Biological Sciences' broad-based programmes give our undergraduates the opportunity to study a wide range of topics and discover their talents before specialising.

Postgraduate study

Postgraduates benefit from our world-leading facilities, excellent academic support from our Graduate School, and collaborations.

Our expert knowledge of the life sciences places us in a key position to contribute our scientific expertise to projects and develop innovative solutions for a wide range of industry and community partnerships.
