About
Dr Ian Reddin is a Research Fellow in the School of Cancer Sciences, University of Southampton, and Manager of the Bio-R Bioinformatics Research Facility. His work applies computational and statistical approaches to large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets, with a particular emphasis on cancer biology. Dr Reddin’s expertise spans whole-genome sequencing, single-cell RNA sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics, and he collaborates extensively across clinical and basic science groups to advance understanding of cancer development, heterogeneity, and therapeutic response.

Biography
Dr Reddin obtained his PhD in Computational Biology from the University of Kent in 2020, following a First-Class BSc in Biomedical Science. He subsequently held postdoctoral positions at Kent and Southampton before being appointed Research Fellow in the School of Cancer Sciences in 2022. In 2024, he established and became Manager of Bio-R, a dedicated bioinformatics research facility that provides specialist support for diverse research groups across the Faculty of Medicine and beyond. He has received recognition for his contributions to cancer genomics, including the Best Poster Award at the 2022 Genomics England Research Summit, and is an active member of multiple faculty and cross-institutional research committees.
