The External Advisory Board plays a vital role in helping the School of Geography and Environmental Science (Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences) to fulfil its ambitions in education, research and enterprise, and deliver excellence and impact across these activities. The Board comprises of individuals external to the University with relevant and complementary expertise, experience and networks. The Board is jointly chaired by the Head of School and a long serving member of the advisory board. The key aims of the Advisory Board are to:
1. Provide advice and strategic guidance to the leadership of SoGES.
2. Contribute to the ongoing development of strategy for SoGES within the University of Southampton.
3. Provide advice to ensure that our research, enterprise and outreach activity has the greatest possible impact on industry, government and society.
4. Provide advice to ensure that our students have relevant training, are highly skilled and thus highly employable.
