Dr Dinesh Samuel is Acting Programme Lead within Health Sciences at the University of Southampton.

My research focuses on evaluating muscle function and physical performance and their impact on quality of life, and technologies for investigating movement dysfunction, and interventions for preventing sarcopenia, falls and frailty. I have been part of a multidisciplinary project investigating the biomechanical and psychological parameters which limit functional performance of older adults, with a view to integrating these into an inclusive design software package. I led an interdisciplinary research involving collaborators from the MRC Epidemiology Resource Centre at Southampton General Hospital and the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton.
