Pastoral care is vitally important in the culture of Ocean and Earth Science as it helps to promote strong relationships between staff and students, and the success and wellbeing of your progress throughout your degree programme.

Staff-student liaison committee

This Committee, which meets twice a year, consists of academic staff and elected representatives from each student year group. The brief of the Committee is to receive and discuss student feedback regarding courses or any other academic matter. Representatives are encouraged to express frank, constructive views and opinions. Matters raised at this forum carry considerable weight and are reported back to the Education Quality Committee for further action.

Together with our teaching quality and pastoral support systems, the Staff-student liaison committee helps us to swiftly address any areas of concern, and to promote a closer understanding and sense of community between staff and students.
