To undertake postgraduate study in Psychology, you will need to be able to demonstrate your interest in your chosen area, as well as a commitment to the type of programme (course) and its duration.
For all programmes - taught and research - we actively look for evidence of this in your application and references through, for example:
We expect you to have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree (at least a 2.1 or international equivalent) or Master’s degree (Merit or international equivalent) in Psychology or related discipline. Having already completed a Master’s degree is considered desirable but not necessary.
Candidates for both DClinPsych and DEdPsych programmes are required to provide proof of BPS GBC.
Again, we generally expect candidates to have achieved, or be predicted, a minimum of an upper second class honours degree in Psychology or a related subject.
If English is not your first language, you will need to have already reached a satisfactory standard in an approved test in English. Details of requirements for each degree programme can be found on the individual webpages for the related degree.
With your application, you will need to provide satisfactory references from two academic referees.
Postgraduate applications are made online. You can read more about the application process here.
