How to Apply

Once you’ve chosen a course, the next step is to make an application through UCAS, the central processing body for higher education courses.

Our Undergraduate Applications page has a full explanation of the application process.

We strongly encourage you to come to one of our Open Days to get a feel for the University and its facilities.

Faculty application requirements

Each academic unit have their own entry requirements. Find out what we require from applicants below.

All applications, both UK/EU and international, should be made via UCAS at www.ucas.com

UCAS application deadline: 15 January.

Portfolio interviews

Applicants who meet, or are predicted to meet, our minimum entry requirements and have applied for Fashion & Textile Design, Fine Art, Graphic Arts or Games Design & Art will be invited to attend a portfolio interview, which allows you to demonstrate your creative ability. Portfolio guidance can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this page under 'Useful downloads'.

International and EU students: We do not expect international students who are not already studying in the UK to attend an interview here. On some occasions a member of staff may be visiting your country and an interview can be arranged. As a general rule international students are invited to send in a portfolio of work by post or email.

Fashion Marketing/Management

Applicants who are applying to our non-studio-based Fashion Marketing/Management programme will not be required to attend a portfolio interview. An applicant’s personal statement, previous qualifications and reference will all be taken into consideration and applications are considered on an individual basis.
