I was amazed by the amount of opportunities and support that University of Southampton offers. I have participated in some workshops such as Deloitte’s teamwork interview, psychometric tests, and been a digital champion.

There are 3 reasons that made me choose University of Southampton. First of all, it has a high ranking not only among UK universities but also world-wise for my degree. Secondly, University of Southampton offers a degree in Entrepreneurship, which not many universities have. Lastly, I heard that Southampton has a very peaceful and calm environment and is great to live in.

I was amazed by the amount of opportunities and support that University of Southampton offers. For example, the Employability Fair gathers and connects employers and students, which provides opportunities for both to seek talents and get to know the requirement of employers respectively. Free guest lectures from current CEOs or politically/economically important people are inspiring and encouraging, which helped me to determine my path to a certain extent. The facilities at the University are fascinating as well. My favourites are the library and the Valley Gardens, which possess beautiful scenes.

I have attended several free guest lectures from current CEOs, new start-up owners, and politicians. They were all inspiring as they have made me aware of what I need to develop as a person to be employable by the time I graduate. I was also motivated to join more extra-curricular activities such as volunteering and workshops to acquire the skill sets I need to develop as a person for society.

I have participated in some workshops such as Deloitte’s teamwork interview, psychometric tests, and been a digital champion. They have helped me understand what an employer would seek from potential employees and provided me with the opportunity to improve my skills in the field of communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

I enjoy the fact that many guest speakers such as experienced CEOs, managers, and professors could come to our lectures to share their opinion towards business, which inspires me on what to do and the skills I need to gain in order to be successful in the future.

I have visited employability fairs and regularly checked the University of Southampton Business Facebook page for upcoming events. I was able to get to know various employability opportunities and understand what skills are required to be employable through those events.

Southampton is a great place to study. It has a very calm and peaceful environment, which enables you to focus on your study thoroughly. Secondly, University of Southampton provides great facilities such as the library, which enables you to develop your career further. The University provides great employability opportunities, which will be precious for graduate job hunting.

The University of Southampton provides a great amount of opportunities, and they can be easily accessed through University websites. Therefore, I would encourage new students to explore the University websites for extra-curricular activities, which would help you develop your careers.
