The academic & non-academic opportunities I have under-taken here has not only shaped my career decisions but has also given me the confidence that I am capable of achieving my future goals

The high education standards along with the added benefit of Southampton being culturally vibrant made it an ideal choice! Another noticeable advantage was the close proximity to home.

Being an Academic President has really been one of the highlights of my journey! The knowledge and problem-solving skills that I developed as part of this role really trained me for a more professional work environment. I’m also involved in the Pakistan society as the vice-president and it has brought me closer to my ethnic roots while enhancing my leader-ship skills.

I’m acting as the Business Academic President for this year and alongside this, I’m also involved with the Business School Buddy scheme and peer leader scheme. I was a Freshers’ Rep this year and I am also a committee member for the Pakistan Society and the Trading & Investment Society. This has really polished my public speaking skills as well as given me the chance to improve my existing skill set.

The friendly yet professional teaching style along with the wide range of optional modules really sets the course apart.

Last year, I was fortunate enough to study Economics based modules and these modules provided me with all the vital information and improved my understanding of my core modules.

The careers fair really helped me to network with large Accounting firms. In the future, I will also be using the student service centre for guidance regarding internships/summer placements.

I’m thinking of doing a Masters’ degree after my Undergraduate degree. Attending a series of Academic workshops and career fairs have absolutely made career paths more clear for me.
