Dr Sascha Miller is a psychologist focused on researching the development, implementation and evaluation of digital behaviour change interventions using the person-based approach.

Dr Miller first joined the Germ Defence project in 2008, which is a digital intervention to lower the spread of viruses within the home through increasing infection prevention behaviours. The intervention is endorsed by NICE as a resource to help fight anti-microbial resistance (AMR) and was funded by the UK Government for use during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Miller’s PhD thesis focused on evaluating engagement with Germ Defence and another AMR intervention. Through this she developed the Analysing and Measuring Usage and Engagement Data (AMUsED) framework to support systematic data collection and analyses of digital interventions.

Dr Miller’s work on engagement and her involvement with implementing Germ Defence led to her current position implementing a digital intervention to help older adults increase physical activity (Active Lives).
