I am a qualitative researcher with over 10 years of experience. I have worked for the University of Southampton since 2018, developing a range of skills in behaviour change, developing interventions, and primary care communication. I have expertise in the internationally recognised Person-Based Approach and Qualitative Methods, which I use to better understand and address complex behaviour change challenges in healthcare. I have been involved in planning intervention content for a wide variety of contexts including respiratory tract infections, multidimensional assessment of mental health in primary care and self-management of social care needs for people living with multimorbidity.
I am particularly committed to meaningful Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement (PPIE). I have led several innovative projects, including the co-design of creative tools—such as conversation card games and lay animations—with underserved groups to enhance understanding of health conditions and promote research engagement. I am also advancing methods to support co-authorship with public contributors in academic publications, reflecting her strong focus on inclusivity and collaboration.
While my work spans a variety of health contexts, I have a special interest in improving the lives of people living with chronic pain—both before and after diagnosis. My research explores ways to enhance communication about pain, advocate for patients' needs, and strengthen psychosocial support within healthcare services.
