Dr Judith Joseph is a Senior Research-Enterprise Fellow within the Centre for Clinical and Community Applications of Health Psychology.
Judith has a strong interest in behaviour change interventions and has extensive experience in developing digital interventions to support individuals to self-manage their health conditions and improve their wellbeing. She has worked on numerous projects developing interventions for the self-management of long-term conditions (including cancer and fatigue) and for public health (including reduction of infection transmission and weight management).
Judith co-ordinates the LifeGuide research programme, a multidisciplinary project providing a set of open source software tools that allow researchers to flexibly create, modify and evaluate digital interventions. As part of her enterprise role, she is currently leading the dissemination of LifeGuide interventions through the NHS and public health teams to make then as widely available as possible to the general public.
Judith completed her PhD in Human Factors at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, University of Southampton. She has completed an MSc in Occupational Psychology and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. She previously worked as an e-learning Teaching Fellow in Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology, and in schools in Wiltshire implementing face-to-face behavioural programmes to reduce challenging behaviours and improve quality of life for children. She has a keen interest in mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
