Demonstrating / Teaching opportunities

In Biological Sciences we can offer postgraduates some paid opportunities supporting undergraduates with practical laboratory sessions.

As a demonstrator you will not only be contributing to Biological Science's undergraduate teaching, you’ll also be improving your own skills and experience.

The skills you gain will enhance your CV and give a significant boost to your next career move, whether you are looking to remain in academia or move into industry.

All postgraduates are given mandatory training before becoming demonstrators, and are expected to follow the guidelines set out in Biological Science's Postgraduate Handbook. Individual undergraduate lab sessions remain under the supervision of an experienced academic.

I enjoy doing demonstration work with undergraduates, and I have visited schools talking about my research. It’s an international community so there are lots of possibilities, including working in the biotech industry in the United States or Europe.
