Facilities

Our students have access to the latest technical, audio-visual and research facilities.

Audiovisual resources include 35mm, 16mm and DVD screening facilities
A wealth of resources

The Avenue Campus offers good audio-visual facilities and teaching/screening venues, including 35mm, 16mm and DVD screening facilities, and an extensive video and DVD library. The Centre for Language Study provides excellent additional resources, including satellite television and access to multimedia technology and the internet. Southampton is close enough to London to allow day visits to the British Film Institute.

In addition to facilities offered by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Film also provides a dedicated study room for postgraduate students. This provides a quiet place to meet, a PC workstation, as well as a small archive of journals, including Sight and Sound, and a collection of past dissertations and theses.

Other facilities of note include:

SUSSED- student and staff intranet

The facilities available for film are excellent with a well-stocked library and video and DVD collection which I often use for specific research for film units, as well as when I fancy widening my knowledge of other areas of film.
