This unit guides you towards and prepares you for the dissertation that will be undertaken in the summer. It includes some taught sessions and individual tutorials.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and Understanding

Having successfully completed this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

  • Research skills suitable for the preparation of a dissertation on a film or television related topic.
Transferable and Generic Skills

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

  • Define and manage research projects
  • Access recent research findings relevant to the academic discipline of Film Studies
  • Demonstrate effective research skills
Cognitive Skills

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:

  • Evaluate and develop different research methodologies, using them effectively for your chosen project.

This module involves some taught sessions and supervision in individual tutorials. It is geared towards the development and refinement of research skills.
