Module overview

This module presents a critical, interdisciplinary analysis of criminal behaviour, requiring students to think beyond official or mainstream understandings of "the problem of crime". The module considers the behavioural, situational, and cultural aspects of criminal behaviour; looking at various causes, classifications, and realities of particular forms of crime. Students will be required to examine established and emergent theories regarding criminal behaviour within the 21st century context of rapid socio-cultural and technological changes.
