This is an optional core module (OCr) for the MSc Accounting & Finance and the MSc Accounting & Management Programmes. Being the final element of the Programme, it provides an opportunity to conduct study on an accounting or finance or management - related issue and reflect on it.
Students will have the opportunity to consult with the module lead while deciding on the topic that interests them. Students will receive individual supervision for further guidance. The research should be based on secondary data sources.
This module aims to provide an opportunity for students in the above PGT programmes to develop relevant skills to manage an independent research project, in terms of critical evaluation of existing literature, and appropriate collection and analysis of accounting and finance information.
The completion of the project will be guided and supported by supervisors with relevant expertise in accounting, finance and management.
The Project must be taken in conjunction with two Independent Learning modules, selected from a range of new option modules designed with a focus on independent study. As a package, the project plus two Independent Learning modules provide 30 ECTS/60 CATS credits on independent study.
