Module Aims

The aims of the module are: To provide an advanced knowledge and understanding of modern synthetic methods, their scope and significance illustrated by applications


Methods of oxidation and reduction of organic substrates. Use of protecting groups. Asymmetric synthesis: (determination of enantiomeric excess, methods for the resolution of enantiomers, diastereoselective reactions, use of non-racemic chiral reagents, chiral auxiliaries and catalytic asymmetric synthesis).
