Aims and Objectives

Module Aims

This module focuses on the consolidation of Core chemistry content introduced throughout the degree. This will be achieved through the availability of a number of online resources, alongside the use of formative problems sets summative coursework. Final assessment will be in the form of a summative synoptic examination. Students will be supported through staff contact via email/remote contact means whilst away from university, and in-Southampton workshops prior to the exam.

  • Further developed independent learning and time management skills.
  • Consolidated existing knowledge of core chemistry topics.
  • Be able to apply existing knowledge from across a range of topics to individual problems.

Teaching and learning methods

Distance learning packs Students will be asked to complete a range of formative assessment tasks throughout the semester in preparation for the final examination. Virtual support will be provide whilst students are off-site by academic staff in chemistry. Workshops Revision workshops will be provided prior to the exams on campus.
