About this course

Improve your English skills and learn another language of your choice. On this course you'll study the history of European society, and explore its politics, laws and economy. You can also study the films and literature of Europe. This degree is only for students who are not native English speakers.

This course combines language learning with modules on European:

  • politics
  • legal and economic structures
  • society
  • ideology
  • culture

It is one of the few European Studies courses that is combined with Modern Languages. Our Centre for Language Study will support you throughout your studies.

Because this course is only for non-native English speakers, you must study the English language. You'll also study a second language, and you can choose from:

  • French

  • Portuguese
  • Spanish

Our language development system lets you study at a level that matches your skill in both English and your chosen language.

You can also choose modules in other areas that interest you, like linguistics or Latin American culture.
