Module overview

This module will provide Master’s year (level 7) Pharmacology and Drug Discovery students with a research-led module based around our local expertise in Pharmacology, where core concepts and techniques that were developed at levels 4-6 are iterated to an advanced level. It will consist of 10 work packages, each encompassing preparatory work, face to face contact during the workshop, and post workshop assessment. The work packages are led by academics and reflect their own research interests and strengths, giving the students detailed information about areas of research and associated experimental techniques. The workshops are designed to train students in data analysis or modelling, data presentation, and where possible allow them to directly observe experimentation and/ or instruments used. The assessments are designed to extract and critically think about data, discuss it in context and with precision, thus developing an advanced understanding. The assessments are weighted equally to form the final module mark.
