• Students studying Block 1 should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of: The 3-dimensional structure of proteins and their function. The structure of ion channels and their role in biology. DNA technologies. Describe non-energetic/structural roles of carbohydrates in living organisms. Students studying Block 2 should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of: Mathematical methods for analysing large health-related data sets The principles underlying randomised clinical trials Students studying Block 3 should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of: Principles of vector fields in electromagnetism The behaviour of different materials in electric and magnetic fields The physical principles underlying medical analytical technologies
