- have developed your understanding of the principles and practices of mentoring and coaching, utilising established models and approaches
- Have applied your practical understanding of the principles of mentoring to your particular school context and within the context of a particular ITE training programme.
- Have a critical understanding of different theoretical and evidence-based perspectives on mentoring and coaching teachers in the very early stages of their career.
- Have developed your own reflective practice through critical evaluation of your own experiences of mentoring and coaching and responding to feedback.
- Have deepened your knowledge of the best ways to develop models of professional development and dialogue and learn how to implement these in your context.
- Have developed your understanding of selected pedagogies for teacher development with a focus on the pedagogies of Practice Based Teacher Education

Learning and Teaching
Teaching and learning methods
This module will utilise a blend of in-person, online synchronous and asynchronous taught sessions. This will include:
Group workshops- delivered live in person by the module tutors comprising of the PGCE lead tutor mentor team
Training notes - written by the module tutors
Selected readings and reflections - from the prescribed core texts
Recorded material/podcasts followed by ‘drop-in’ sessions with a module tutor at scheduled times.
Synchronous online seminars conducted via MS Teams.
