Module overview
This module introduces you to research, critical thinking, analysis and reflection within wider Art, Design and Culture in general and Textile Design in particular. This module will equip you with skills necessary to be able to engage in research, which will give you a foundation of references and contexts, underpinning the areas of Textile Design in a challenging and creative setting.

Having successfully completed this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
- an introduction to a research informed broad based appreciation of the wider cultural perspectives available in the development of your practice.
- how to locate and translate your visual and contextual research in written form to communicate and express your ideas effectively.

Having successfully completed this module you will be able to:
- present and communicate ideas effectively into written formats
- identify, select and draw upon a wide range of subject specific, printed and electronic sources to inform, communicate and challenge your thinking
